History of Flemington Presbyterian Church
By Josephine Bacon Martin, Thomas Milton Byrd and William Carl Cox
Pictures, records, and historical sketches about this historic Liberty County Church, founded in 1815 as an off-shoot of the 1756 Midway Congregational Church. In addition to an entertaining history (“we can say with assurance that the Flemington Church came into being, at least in part, because of the mosquito”), the book includes the register of communicants, cemetery catalog, baptismal register, and letters of dismission, as well as names of ministers, elders, deacons and trustees.
