Published History of Midway Church (by James Stacy)
The Midway Congregational Church was established in 1756, and detailed records were kept through 1867. This book combines three publications of these records: James Stacy’s 1903 History of the Midway Congregational Church, Liberty County, Georgia; Elizabeth Walker Quarterman’s 1951 addenda to this history; and the 1894 Published Records of Midway Church, Vol. 1, also by James Stacy. Contains a complete surname index, as well as biographical sketches, death/birth/baptism/marriage records, and records of the establishment and meetings of the Church. [NOTE: Although the Midway Church always had African American members, only a few of these are mentioned in this book. ]
